for everyone

Did the LVRC race at Rocko yesterday, 5 laps of the Valley.

The fast boys went away the first time up bringhurst, so we chased for 5 laps it was one fast pace 24 mph average for 50 miles, 2hrs and 4 mins and Graham you will be pleased to here thats 49.4 miles, thats 9.88 miles a lap.

It was pretty fragmented at the end but I seemed to sprint past a heap of people with 50 miles in my legs like they were standing still, think I came 8th but just glad not to blow up as not gone that fast for years.

The valley jinx struck again, down the fast hill to drayton, the bunch compressed, I just braked in time as eveyone concerteenered up and had my face in someoness back at one point. martin eadon was rubbing my back wheel with his front amd saved himself as 4 others went down hard and fast. One Ambulance case with a broken colarbone and wrist/arm .....ouch.

That place is keeping bikeshops in buisness this year.

Forgot to mention. After the race we were asked to help wave off tehse blokes going on a round the world bike ride. There was a TV camera crew who are doing news stuff and a podcast of them. Alaong with about 40 villagers in Middleton we cheered them off. The cameramen wanted cyclists to ride off into the distance with them, to see them off.....I was the only one left with a bike, so that was never going to work.

Have to say they looked like they were guys with bikes....rather than cyclists. they set off in crappy shorts and normal dress shirts....mad, but fun i bet.
