Right we need some stock and the minimum order is 15 items for a 10% discount at this quiet time of year and Endura are offering a free artwork fee (so i can change the design) and even promise 4 week delivery or you get it half price.

There's some great new products available too. numbers are approx costs
  • Road jerseys  - like our race tops with long sleeves, not as warm as train tops.36-38
  • MTB jersey    - loose fitting sleeve and hem with one zipped pocket 36-38 these look cool.
  • Sleeveless race jerseys - at last proper 3 pocket race tops sleeveless 34-36
  • Pro Thermal biblongs - mega winter protection 59
  • Tri-suits - no arms even a pocket 44-57
  • Tri vests - mesh pocket and vented side panels 26
  • Tri shorts - skimpy 25
  • Team supporters Jerseys - casual shirts with round or collar neck 26-28 great for those pasta party or podium moments....got to order a bunch of these.

So first thing is, do we get rid of the Richardsons logo, replace it with anything else or just leave it blank. Nows the time to do anything if we are going to. Freeride Spain have expressed an interest previously. I need your views please, know any sponsors ???

And secondly what do you want ordering, I will be getting some stock as well as definate orders so think about future needs as well as present.

Me i'm in for a sleeveless top, an mtb jersey and a couple of casual tops.

Version Mk5.0....the plumz at night look

Or the black and sweaty look.

Obviously the sleeves would look like the other top but with white top panels

which would probaly stop the heat effect

Version Mk5.1

Version MK5.2 loads od Orange and could posibly clash with the orange of a cats top at FNSS races.

Version MK5.3 looking fine but I'm still not sure about the orange sleeves

have read all of this and will put my views/order up later, if i can get sponsorship, does the company logo have to be printed on the shirts.............i suppose not, really, and it would need to be agreed by all as to the content
smiffyj wrote on Oct 16, '07
I'll have a casual top round neck (size 4 or medium), a sleeveless race top (size 4) and a pair of ordinary cycling shorts (if you can still offer these). By all means order an MTB jersey in my name but it'll probably be the new year before I can afford that item too.

I think the Richardsons logo should remain, John in the shop there is very willing to look after us and has made both Lloyd and myself feel like we're getting good prices and service. As to other sponsorship, I have no opinion either way.

The casual tops sound good - we will need a few of those for the supporters club.

Regarding the sponsorship, I've only been in Richardsons a couple of times since Adam left and I haven't been overwhelmed with the service but their name already appears on lots of Plumz kit/banners etc. What benefits does everyone (the club?) get from their sponsorship? If their name is on the kit, yet nobody gets any real benefit then Richardsons are getting a very nice deal.

Given that most our riders race to a certain extent and a club presence at the major events is almost expected, we need some generous benefactor to subsidise our race entries. I have taken a few minutes to write the first draft of our sales pitch.

"Wanted: Wealthy sponsor required for MTB team. Some talented individuals involved but vastly outnumbered by talentless, hangers on. Guaranteed exposure - some of it may even be positive. Preference given to breweries, lap dancing clubs and purveyors of carbon bling. Responses to be submitted in brown envelopes padded with large denomination notes in sterling"

The Richardsons thing is like this:
I got the first draft of the shirts made up, when Adam and Craig were in the shop. Craig as Shop manager then asked if they could put shop name on the kit. No money deal was done as at that time we were all getting stuff at ridiculous prices from the shop and effectively it wasn't spomsorship by them but more I was returning the favour they showed us by supporting the shop.

Now Lloyd, Stu and John still get some great deals off john in there, where as the rest of us are probably guilty of neglecting our local bike shop in favour of the Internet.
Latest deal by stu was he bought something and swapped a cheap bar of chocolate for it ....try that on the Internet.

The point about the logos on flags and banners is a good point, and getting anyone to stump money up is a no go situation.
Sounds like the Richardson logo and name should stay.....more views please.

Like I said hints on future purchases graetly appreciated, i'll just order teh wrong stuff like before,.

I have some shorts size 4 and windproofs and winter tops still in stock at home from last times thousand pound order.

i think Richardsons should stay ,if you all used the shop you would realise how much they can help you out ,i get a better deal now than when Adam ect was there ,John let me have what ever i wanted to kit me out for the Worlds , if it got used id pay, if not give it back no probs i took over £500 worth of parts with me .TOP bloke. just dont expect them to have everything you see on the internet.

can i just have the normal jersey with the 3 pockets in the biggest size and 2pairs of bib shorts not the thermal ones though
bigring wrote on Oct 16, '07
Just another quick thing would it be possible to change the colours ie the white background its so hard to keep clean specially when you race properly. same logos just different colour ,time for a change come on dont be afraid
smiffyj wrote on Oct 17, '07
Orange/black as the main colourway with white details and logos then, it would be the third different incarnation of the Plumz 'sunset rider' logo. Just a thought.
numplumz wrote on Oct 17, '07, edited on Oct 17, '07
I'll try and have a play with paint, black as a background i guess is just a bad idea, we used to cook in those black tops. How would it work ?? Just added picture up top of the design artwork as a pointer. (click it for a HOOUGE version)
Difficult changing a masterpiece I reckon.
So which colous where ??
bigring wrote on Oct 17, '07
definately the one at the bottom looks great and everything really stands out
smiffyj wrote on Oct 17, '07
Top one is closest to what I had in mind, but the bottom one is cool also. I'd prefer the top one if only 'coz it has black sleeves (not white!).

What about the bottom one but with orange tops to the sleeves instead of white, with white edge stripes. With that in mind would you then make the flanks white with orange or black writing (or would that make too much white again?)

As long as Bigring is happy with his wash results, all cool.

And what ever the final design, it'll still relate back to the existing kit(s) so as not to make recent kit additions look too much 'out of date'.
troytheboy wrote on Oct 17, '07
i prefer the top one, i think it's just a bit different to the current kit, but i like the bottom one too!
I will prob go for mtb jersey and a casual top. Also as peviously said i will have the size 5 shorts still in stock and a winter top
numplumz wrote on Oct 17, '07
OK I've sorted out the different colours with versions so I know which ones your on about.
version 0 - night moon collection
version 1 - burnt orange collection
version 2 - orange crush collection
version 3 - Smiffys collection

Votes and Any more colours to try.... fire away.

troytheboy wrote on Oct 17, '07
my choice No 1 Version 0 - night moon
No 2 Version 2 - Orange crush

After that i'm struggling a bit, I like them all really
bigring wrote on Oct 17, '07
version 1 or 3 for me ....0 has far to much orange
numplumz wrote on Oct 17, '07
so Troy and BigRing have exactly oposite tastes then ;-)
bigring wrote on Oct 17, '07
yeah but no but as long as there aint much white i aint bov, vered
troytheboy wrote on Oct 17, '07
i agree about the white thing as my kit is hard to keep clean, and i don't fall off as much as i used to either!
smiffyj wrote on Oct 18, '07
I'm happy with whatever new version people fancy. Just as long as no-one turns round to me in three months time and tells me that our new kit design sucks! The orange sleeves thing was just a suggestion, I think it looks very effective in conjuction with the white flanks V5.3, but white sleeves and orange flanks V5.1 works equally well. It's a fantastic colourway in whatever combination we eventually decide on anyway, so bloody there!
bikinglynn wrote on Oct 22, '07
I agree with the darker colours...I think Troy & Lloyd should have a race to settle it!
Dont rate the sponsors much, true u can haggle a reasonable deal out of em if they have something on the shelf u like, but thier stock I find very limited & asking them to order anything is like asking for a knobble off the pope!
P.s the crucial question is which tops are avaliable in a vest???
troytheboy wrote on Oct 22, '07
i'm up for the race ........Lloyd are you??? Boat race maybe............ friday night it is then
carbonbob wrote on Nov 1, '07
Im a bit late to this one ( normal for me I know) but the bottom kit looks cool to me I could do with a sleeveless top size4 bib shorts 4 and a medium casual shirt either type of collar
troytheboy wrote on Nov 2, '07
